Thank you for expressing an interest in this key strategic role, leading on marketing and communications strategy for NUS, and its commercial arm, NUS Services Ltd. You couldn’t have chosen a more exciting time to consider joining us and making a major contribution to the continuing transformation of our organisation. Our commitments are clear and achievable: to become more responsive to members’ needs, more efficient with our funds and resources and, critically, more effective as an agent of change.

We are determined to give students the voice they deserve. As a given, we are committed to defending and promoting the rights of the seven million students in both further and higher education, whilst developing and championing students’ unions. What’s more, we are seeking to leverage the strong brand of NUS to maximise the impact we have on the lives of students and our member organisations. We are continually looking to add further value to our students’ unions and to increase our reach and impact as a national campaigning organisation.

We have an illustrious past to match our exciting future. Founded in 1922, NUS has played an important part in shaping the direction of the UK’s social history. Further and higher education has changed markedly over this time and many of these changes are as a direct result of the campaigning work of NUS. It’s worth also highlighting that we have helped develop some of today’s leaders: MPs such as Charles Clarke and Jack Straw, high profile campaigners, such as Maeve Sherlock and Trevor Phillips, as well as numerous captains of industry and third sector leaders. This is a pivotal time in our history. We have a great story to tell. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
